Done in the same visual style as Street Fighter 4 and unlike Marvel v Capcom, it is a 2D plane fighting game with only Marvel characters fighting Street Fighter characters from Capcom. The roster would include Marvel characters who generally fight on the ground, another way to keep the game from being too similar to Marvel v Capcom. Therefore, no Spider-Man, Storm, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, etc.
STORY:
Both The Collector and The Grandmaster begin to peer into alternate realities and dimensions for combatants worthy for another Battleworld when they come across the reality of Street Fighter and become ever so intrigued by its lack of cosmic powered characters who still seem to show uncanny combat prowess.
Satisfied with what is observed, The Collector and The Grandmaster create a world and abduct fighters and civilians from both Marvel and Street Fighter realities and place them upon this newly created world.
The events of the game take place 12 years after the abduction and businesses, rivalries, friendships, and organizations have been fostered by this world’s inhabitants when The Collector and The Grandmaster reveal themselves and introduce a tournament that will take place. Those who win are said to be able to return to their original reality while those on the losing side will have their reality erased from existence.
